"Little
Red Gets Naughty
in Wicked"
Fantasia Film
Festival has officially invaded Canada, bringing
to Montreal an eclectic array of fantasy, sci-fi and
horror projects that, until July 25th, film goers will
embrace or reject or elevate to cult status.

A trailer was
sent our way for just one of the many short films playing
this year. It's called A Wicked Tale, a 45-minute short
that further proves children's tales are often prime
territory for some f'd up terror. You can lurk around
the official site and catch said trailer here before
- if you're heading to Fantasia - Wicked makes its Canadian
premiere at the fest.
The story? Critics
have used the words "surreal," "erotic"
and "blood drenched." A combination that can
never be beat. Wicked is apparently a spin on Little
Red Riding Hood and uses a combination of live action
and puppetry. The man pulling Wicked's strings is director
Tzang Merwyn Tong who also helmed the short film e'Tzaintes
two years back and has since won a wide array of festival
awards.
Look for the film
on the closing night of the fest where Tong will personally
introduce his opus.
